It is bordered to the south by Aberdeen Proving Ground, zip code 21010, sometimes called Gunpowder, MD. (Edgewood Area, formerly known as Edgewood Arsenal). Edgewood is bordered to the east by the Bush River, to the north by Abingdon, MD 21009 and to the west by Joppa, MD 21085 (also known as Joppatown, Joppatowne or Magnolia). The Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train Service links the Edgewood MARC station south to Baltimore, MD; Washington, D.C.; and west to Martinsburg, West Virginia.
